Leading up to our QQI Inaugural Review

In advance of the Inaugural Review, we conducted a self-evaluation of our Quality Assurance systems and outlined our findings in a Self-Evaluation Report and a Provider Profile. In addition, we provided learners with a Learner Summary of the Self-Evaluation Report. This self-evaluation is a reflective and critical evaluation completed by the members of the ETB community, including learners, staff at all levels of the organisation, and external stakeholders. When it is completed effectively, and in an open and inclusive manner, it is one of the most important and valuable components of the review process.

Our QQI Inaugural Review

QQI selected a team of six reviewers to conduct our Inaugural Review. The planning visit to Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board (LWETB) took place on 24 February 2022. The main review visits took place remotely by the full team between 25 April and 29 April 2022.

LWETB Inaugural Review 2022

The third phase of the QQI Inaugural Review has been for LWETB FETQS Quality Assurance department to draft an Action Plan in response to the recommendations contained in the QQI Review Report 2022.

After consultation with the FET Management Team and the Steering Group, the final plan was approved by the Quality Oversight Group (QOG) and submitted to QQI on the 13th of February 2023.

Implementation of the Action Plan will be coordinated by our FETQS Department and overseen by the QOG.
