The CEFR is a system that helps you understand your level of English. It breaks down into six levels:

A1

Beginner

Use simple words and phrases. Say basic things about yourself and ask simple questions.

A2

Elementary

Handle everyday tasks like shopping or asking for directions. Understand common phrases.

B1

Intermediate

Have simple conversations and describe your experiences. Talk about things you're familiar with.

B2

Upper-Intermediate

Speak easily with native speakers and understand the main ideas of more complex topics.

C1

Advanced

Speak fluently and understand detailed and difficult texts.

C2

Proficient

Understand almost everything you hear or read. Speak and write like a native speaker.
